Alpine Unveils 2025 F1 Car in Bahrain Shakedown

Alpine, a prominent Formula 1 team, made waves on Monday by unveiling its latest creation, the A525 car, in a shakedown event at the Bahrain International Circuit. This event marked the first glimpse of the team’s new vehicle for the upcoming 2025 season, generating excitement among fans and experts alike.

The shakedown, officially designated as a filming day, allowed the team to put the car through its paces over a maximum distance of 200km (124 miles) using demonstration tires, as per the regulations. Both Pierre Gasly, an experienced driver, and his rookie teammate Jack Doohan had the opportunity to test drive the new machinery, with team principal Oliver Oakes mentioning that the day was “split evenly” between the two drivers.

The reveal of the A525 car comes after Alpine had previously showcased its updated blue-and-pink livery at the F175 Live event in London. However, the actual 2025 car had remained under wraps until the shakedown event in Bahrain. Gasly expressed his initial impressions of the car, stating, “It is only a shakedown, limited running, so it’s not like we are driving the car at its full potential, but the initial feeling felt smooth, and I am just looking forward to getting going and having a proper run later this week for official pre-season testing.”

Alpine’s Pre-Season Running in Bahrain

Following the shakedown event, Alpine revealed its plans for the upcoming pre-season running, also set to take place in Bahrain. Gasly and Doohan are scheduled to share the track over the course of three days, each taking turns behind the wheel. Doohan, the Australian driver, will drive on Wednesday morning, Thursday afternoon, and Friday morning, while Gasly will have his sessions on Wednesday afternoon, Thursday morning, and Friday afternoon.

Doohan emphasized the importance of the upcoming days, stating, “It will be three busy days where we have many things to run through in order to develop the A525 ahead of the season start.” Oakes also highlighted the team’s focus on continuous improvement, mentioning “multiple areas of interest for us to keep learning and progressing.”

Gasly’s Ambitious Goals for Alpine

Gasly, known for his ambitious nature, previously set a high target for Alpine in the 2025 constructors’ championship. He aimed for a top-five finish, which would position the team as the ‘best of the rest’ behind the established top four teams. This goal would require Alpine to outperform every other rival, including the well-funded Aston Martin team, which is set to welcome legendary designer Adrian Newey on board in March.

As the team prepares for the challenges ahead, Gasly’s aspirations serve as a driving force for Alpine to push the boundaries and strive for excellence in the upcoming season.

Whether it’s the thrill of the race, the technical mastery of engineering, or the strategic brilliance of team management, Formula 1 continues to captivate audiences worldwide. With each new season comes fresh hope, fierce competition, and the promise of unforgettable moments on the track. As Alpine unveils its latest creation and gears up for the 2025 campaign, fans eagerly await the spectacle that lies ahead.
